Contract Type - 37.5 hours, Fixed term Contract Maternity Cover

Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm or 10am-6pm

Salary - 30.000 - 32.000 per annum dependent on skills & experience

About the role

  • To contribute to the effective and efficient management of the operating theatre by scheduling patient procedures to be performed directly onto Meditech obtaining the essential information from the Consultant's secretary in order to create a 'one stop' booking service.
  • The Theatre Scheduler is responsible for the understanding of patient scheduling and procedure knowledge.
  • The Theatre Scheduler will interact closely with a range of departments which will require excellent communications, public relations and documentation skills.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience of the clinical operational running of surgical services in a hospital setting.
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of medical terminology
  • Capable of using various computer system to include - Meditech, Microsoft programs such as Outlook and Word, fax machine, telephone systems and scanners/copiers
  • Answer the telephone and schedule/reschedule/edit procedures per Consultant request
  • Communicate with various departments to facilitate scheduling
  • Ability to check practicing privileges
  • Understanding of CCSD codes
