The Role
As a Kitchen Porter at Phyllis Court Club you will be part of a fresh food led kitchen environment achieving high standards of culinary expectation for our members. This role provides an opportunity be a big part of the service and cleanliness that defines dining at the club.
You hold a key role in the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchens. Our kitchens are modern, spacious and come well equipped. The staff canteen is run directly from the work and organisation of the Kitchen Porters. This is a great opportunity for a Kitchen Porter who is serious about being part of a team that creates excellent quality experiences for our members and has a strong team work ethos.
This role provides the opportunity of a fantastic work/life balance, with the benefit of no split shifts. This is a full-time, salaried position working 40 hours per week. It also includes paid overtime when required. We have live in positions available for this role, our staff accommodation is situated in Henley and is available on request.

Responsibilities
- Working as part of a team to clean and organise the kitchen.
- Clean and operate the dish machine in a safe and cleanly manner, keeping good hygiene practices to the fore.
- All surfaces to be kept neat and tidy to minimize any potential safety issues.
- Clean all dishes, floors and equipment as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
- Ensure the staff food provision is monitored and delivered to an acceptable standard.
- Take every opportunity to make the place better than you found it.
- Ability to clean all the kitchen equipment with the correct training in a safe and proper manner.
- Maintain a clean working station whilst adhering to health & safety standards.
- Assist with the cleaning and organisation of kitchen and equipment.
- Restock items for the chefs as needed throughout the shift.
- Assist with safe storage of deliveries with proper rotation and detailed temperature records kept.
- Actively participate and action the company’s Food Safety management system (FOOD ALERT).
- To maintain the high levels of hygiene and health and safety.
- Be aware of Health and Safety at Work and Hygiene regulations and report any irregularities to the Senior Sous Chefs or the Head of Operations.
- Practice good personnel hygiene at all times to comply with the Club’s policies.
- Report all accidents to the Senior Chef on duty or the Duty Manager.
- Ensure good working relationships with kitchen personnel and all other departments within the Club setting an example to others.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.

- Passionate about working in hospitality
- Great eye for detail and take pride in a clean and tidy workplace.
- Willing to work in different areas of the kitchen and have good all-round knowledge of a kitchen.
- Be organised and able to work under pressure.
- Team player essential with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- High level of professionalism.
- Good personnel hygiene.
- Good communication skills.
Desirable
- Previous experience working as a Kitchen Porter in a busy kitchen environment.
- Previous experience in a private members Club or similar environment.
- First Aid trained or willingness to attain.
