We are currently recruiting for a Physiotherapist at The Harborne Hospital. Part of the World's largest private healthcare group; providing award winning primary, acute and complex care.

  • Location: The Harborne Hospital

  • Contract: Type; Permanent, full time 37.5 hours

  • Shift Days: 5 days per week

  • Shift Patterns: 7.5 hours per day, between the hours of 8am to 8pm

  • Salary Range: This role offers a competitive salary dependent on experience

About the Facility:

The Harborne Hospital - part of HCA Healthcare UK is a brand new 100million, purpose built 50 bed, multi-speciality private hospital opening in Birmingham in 2023. Located on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham campus, the hospital will have the deep clinical infrastructure, equipment and facilities and expert, experienced teams to deliver full clinical pathways across a mix of specialties and sub-specialties at all levels of complexity including Cardiology, Cancer and Complex Surgery. The Harborne Hospital is the 4th NHS partnership within this network, partnering with University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust.

Role Overview:

As the Physiotherapist, you will provide managerial and administrative support to the Medical Services Manager and assist in managing the technical resources efficiently and effectively, ensuring the smooth running of a first-class physiology service at The Harborne Hospital. The Physiotherapist will provide expert assessment, management and education for patients requiring physiotherapy, utilising evidence-based practice.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To undertake a comprehensive physiotherapy assessment of the individual patient including those with multi-pathological presentations; to gain relevant information from the subjective and objective clinical examination; to apply advanced clinical reasoning skills; to formulate a clinical diagnosis of their condition; set therapeutic/rehabilitation goals and objectives

  • To provide support, teaching and highly specialist advice to other members of staff in the team.

  • To practice within the Health and Care Professions Council's and Chartered Society of Physiotherapists standards and guidelines.

  • To formulate and deliver an individual treatment programme based on specialist knowledge of evidence-based practice and treatment options using clinical skills.

  • To regularly re-evaluate and re-assess patient progress and update treatment programmes as required.

  • Assess patients' independence levels and safety for discharge and refer patients to other services as required.

  • To be able to identify and recognize areas of further learning and take responsibility for addressing these through reflective practice.

Skills and Experience:

  • Graduate Diploma or BSc in Physiotherapy

  • Registration with MCSP and HCPC

  • Experience providing care to mixed cohort of patients and specialisms including general in-patient surgery, ITU and respiratory

  • Significant and relevant post graduate experience

  • Knowledge of relevant hospital policies and procedures

  • Health and Safety training
