Sandwell Leisure Trust, in partnership with Sandwell Council is now looking to recruit a Talent Development Diving Coach to support the legacy of the games through Diving and to help put this iconic facility on the world map.

We're looking for an enthusiastic Talent Development Diving Coach to assist in the development of what we envisage will become a world class diving pathway. This is a hugely exciting opportunity to support the launching of the programme from inception.

Working alongside the Head Dive Coach, aquatic teams, and a team of diving coaches, you will be responsible for the support of the centres diving scheme and for the day-to-day coaching of the learn to dive and diving training programme. You will assist in the management of divers in improving their performance at grassroots, regional, national and in the future, international level.

Sandwell Aquatic Centre aims to become a home to world-class divers and coaches with the potential to host world class events and training camps. As Talent Development Diving Coach, you will play a key part in developing new squads and divers selected from talent testing, with the opportunity of selection into the Swim England Team Z programme in the future.

Not only will you be working closely within the Sandwell Aquatics Diving Club, you will also be expected, in time, to attend the many competitions/camps held over the season whilst assisting in the management of what will be one of the largest diving lesson academies in the country. A flexible, positive, and can-do attitude with excellent time management skills is crucial. You will have effective communication and customer service skills as you ensure a smooth, professional and enjoyable experience throughout a customer's journey, whether that be in lessons or squads.

You will have a Swim England Diving Coach qualification (or equivalent) and be an experienced, passionate coach within the sport, demonstrating a good understanding of the British Diving system and Swim England Diving Talent Pathway.

You will understand diver's needs and be able to coach a diverse range of people from children through to adults. You will be a key part of our team in moulding one of the most up and coming diving programmes in the newest aquatic facility in the country.

In return, we offer a range of benefits that you'd expect from an award-winning organisation like Sandwell Leisure Trust which include:

  • Admission to the Local Government Pension Scheme, 16.2% contribution.
  • Generous annual leave, starting at 30 days plus 9 bank holidays
  • Free staff membership at our leisure centres
  • Ongoing training and development to help you to be the best
  • Flexible and family friendly working policies
