We are currently seeking a passionate Director of Spa and Fitness to join the team here at The Carlton Tower Jumeirah.

About the role

As the Director of Spa and Fitness, you will ensure the smooth and efficient operation of The Peak Health Club facilities including the Pool and The Spa by achieving the standards of service required by the Hotel and maximise member satisfaction and sales, in accordance with the hotel’s policies and procedures and operational standards.

Some of your main duties will be: 

  • Overview the management and service standards of Reception, Therapies, Membership, Gym, Pool, Food and Beverage, Promotions and Changing Room
  • To monitor Membership levels monthly to achieve maximum Revenue. 
  • To ensure that a wide range of Therapies are available and appropriate to the image and standards of The Peak Health Club.
  • To develop a yearly promotional plan outlining events and dates planned for approval by the Director of Marketing.
  • To supervise the colleagues within the department, ensuring that the correct standards and methods of service are maintained as stated in the Hotel and Department Operations Manuals.
  • To ensure all staff are trained to upsell all memberships and other services.
  • To ensure therapists operate their practice to the level of professionalism expected and set down by the management of the Hotel.
  • To monitor the standards in relation to fitness assessment and train when necessary.
  • To familiarise oneself with the daily, weekly and monthly Membership report types and numbers of Membership sold and Total Revenue achieved.
  • To prepare The Peak Health Club Budget.

The successful candidate will have the following experience and skills:

  • Previous experience as a Director of Spa and Fitness Club for a minimum of 3 years within a luxury 5 star environment is desirable
  • A strong background in health, fitness and wellness is essential.
  • Knowledge of UK employment laws and UK regulations addressing spas and fitness environments is essential.
  • Excellent level of English
  • Excellent communicator and able to connect with all levels in the business with the ability to motivate your colleagues.
  • Effective organisational skills; able to prioritise tasks and self-manage a workload
  • Excellent personal presentation with a warm and welcoming personality.
  • Friendly, approachable and professional
  • Have a strong eye for detail
