Summary

We have an opportunity for a Holidays Operation Team Leader to work within our North Cornwall region which spans from Mawgan Porth in the south up towards Bude in the north of Cornwall. Our visitors come to the area for the unspoilt coast with its imposing headlands, hidden coves, stunning beaches and all that the North coast and surrounding countryside has to offer. Many of our visitors stay a little longer in one of our 29 holiday cottages. There are a variety of buildings offering very different experiences including Doyden Castle, the quirky Birdcage, idyllic Boscastle Elm Cottage and the statuesque Pentire Head Farmhouse.  

Duration: Permanent

Hours: 25 hours per week or roughly 3.5 days a week with agreed non-working days. Responsible for two changeovers in the week.

Salary: £10.78 per hour from April

Internally you will be known as 'Holidays Operation Team Leader'

What you'll be doing

Working alongside our two other Team Leaders, you will assist the Holidays Operation Assistant Manager in the delivery of our growing holidays business. You'll ensure consistent management of the operation across the area and achieve high levels of visitor satisfaction. You'll want all guests to be delighted with their stay and for them to create memories and stories in our unique holiday places. The role entails being out and about at the holiday cottages, travelling in our widespread portfolio and some Saturday work. A flexible approach to working and self motivation will be needed in this varied role. You'll support the team of Holidays Operation Assistants (HOAs) to meet the high standards of cleanliness, presentation, health & safety and maintenance in our holiday cottages. 


You will be expected to carry out and support changeovers yourself and you will have one cottage that you will be responsible for. Proficient IT skills, particularly, Excel and Word will help you to track inventory and supplies ensuring our HOAs and cottages have everything they need for busy changeovers. You'll carry out risk and compliance tasks making sure everyone is safe. You'll also work closely with the wider property team of business support, facilities and rangers and be part of a warm and friendly, award-winning team.  


You will also help induct new staff and support the provision of an efficient, effective and flexible service ensuring cover for changeovers, service cleans and house opening achieving very high standards of presentation; co-ordination of routine maintenance and repairs, and deal with customer queries in line with the NT Holidays Toolkit.

Health and Safety compliance and good environmental management is essential. You will be familiar with working to risk assessments, COSHH procedures, accident reporting, and fire safety.

Who we're looking for

To excel at this role, you'll need to have;

•Practical experience in an operational role in a holiday operating environment

•A good understanding of necessary standards of housekeeping, presentation and maintenance

•Some supervisory experience, good people skills, confidence dealing with a variety of situations including incidents and complaints
