Visitor Operations & Experience Manager - Maidenhead

We've got an exciting opportunity for a Visitor Operations and Experience Manager to join our Property Leadership Team at Cliveden.

A unique chance to develop the visitor offer and diversify audiences in one of the most high-profile portfolios of Europe’s largest conservation charity, looking after nature, beauty and history for everyone to enjoy.

Fixed term contract from May 2023 to August 2024.

Interviews will take place at Cliveden on Friday 31st March.

This is a fixed term contract due to end when the previous employee returns from secondment.

What it's like to work here

Cliveden’s Italianate mansion, riverside setting and family-friendly events draw visitors all year round, making this property one of the National Trust’s busiest locations welcoming over half a million visitors annually. There is always plenty to do at the 375-acre estate, with the refurbishment of the Conservatory Cafe among recent projects and a major infrastructure upgrade in the planning. The Cliveden team are close-knit with a wonderful sense of community, and we work closely with the staff in the hotel and other stakeholders.

The job is sometimes pressured, but it’s a beautiful place to work and we love to share the pleasures of Cliveden with our visitors. You'll take part in duty management, deputising for the General Manager (including regular weekends) as well as running the visitor operation and setting our strategic direction.

As a member of the leadership team, you’ll oversee day-to-day visitor operations, ensuring excellent everyday delivery. With a famous hotel as our tenant in the centre of the estate, our level of service has to be the best. You'll have budgetary control, whilst maximising income generation, from admissions, events and membership to be re-invested at Cliveden.

You’ll create a positive and productive work environment for your team, who lead on visitor welcome, events, learning, marketing and more. You’ll manage the recruitment, coaching and staff development within our excellent visitor facing team.
