Interviews will take place place virtually on the 6th April
National Trust Cymru cares for some of the most iconic historic houses and castles in Wales. We are looking for someone to lead and develop our in-house team of Building surveyors providing support enabling properties to achieve sustainable standards relating to all aspects of building conservation, repair and maintenance. This role will be suitable for a Senior Building Surveyor who has experience of managing projects. This role can be done in accordance with our Hybrid working guidance
You will find that no two days will be the same.

What you'll be doing
The role is varied, challenging, and rewarding.
You will oversee all aspects of conservation and risk management of buildings and structures at our amazing places, acting as a lead consultant utilising the Trust project management framework. Together with the Project Managers, General managers and operational colleagues, you will develop and deliver a programme of planned improvements, preparing specifications, planning delivery and tracking progress.
Working closely with external partners and consultants to ensure conservation excellence is at the core of all we do.

Who we're looking for
- Relevant professional e.g.-chartered building surveyor (MRICS or equivalent)
- Knowledge of the relevant legislation and buildings regulations relating to the role.
- Strong experience of contract management in a supervisory capacity.
- Adaptable, and able to make decisions and drive projects forwards working to budgets and timescales.
- Risk based and pragmatic mindset.
- Ability to influence and negotiate.
- Knowledge of budgets, finance, and co-ordination of projects.
- A positive attitude to Welsh language and culture
