Asda have embarked on one of the largest retail programmes in the industry, which will see us change or transform almost every aspect of the Technology estate, as well as a significant amount of spend, previously managed by Walmart.

Your Role  

• The Technology Category Manager role has accountability for end to end sourcing activity, with a particular focus on the infrastructure category including Cloud Hosting, Telecoms and Security.
• This will involve setting the strategy for approximately 50-60m of spend, including management of both Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, critical to our operations.
• You'll also influence and business partner with technology and business towers to help deliver our transformation activity and help ensure a best in class technology cost base.

About you 

• Demonstrable Technology Procurement experience with specific expertise in the infrastructure category
• Knowledge of the technology supplier market and underlying cost and commercial models
• Confident in defining, constructing and managing complex contracts
• Experience of influencing at senior levels within a large organisation (up to senior director level)
• Ability to work in an agile manner to flex and support the business needs in a fast-paced transformation environment
• Experience of defining and executing category strategies
• Experience of technology transformation programmes is desirable
