Sports Development Manager - Portsmouth, Hampshire
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: £30,000 per annum

We’re looking for a talented and ambitious Sports Development Manager to join the team! As the Sports Development Manager, you will ensure that all city residents have the opportunity to take part in sport regardless of background. Working with the leisure management teams, you will support diverse activity programmes introducing innovative sporting activities to increase participation.
Main Duties Include:
- Creating and delivering a Sports, Activity and Marketing plan for the Portsmouth Division.
- You’ll be working closely with the leisure management team to implement, develop and monitor the action plan set out for Community sports.
- Help support, train, and develop coaches and volunteer staff.
- Provide reports and identify potential areas of improvement for stakeholders.
- You will have the opportunity to attend local, regional, and national meetings. As well as Seminars and conferences to really get a feel of what we can do to improve and maintain our customers loyalty.
- You’ll be responsible for managing budgets and identifying opportunities for external funding to help better our services.
- You’ll have a real passion for wanting to make a difference in the community.
Skills and Experience:
- Ideally a degree in Leisure studies/sports development or PE.
- Sports Coaching experience to Level 2 standard in a similar role is essential.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral and be able to effectively communicate with all sectors of the community.
- Proven experience in managing a team is essential.
- Be based in the Portsmouth area and have the ability to travel to nature of the role.
