40 hours per week

Monday to Thursday - 8am to 3.30pm (must be flexible to suit business needs)

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing delicious food to the highest standards
  • Supervising our culinary and catering teams to ensure we continue to deliver impeccable food and customer service
  • Overseeing the efficiency of all in-unit catering operations, including managing inventories, monitoring budgets, and implementing action plans
  • Communicating regularly with your line manager to monitor KPIs and targets
  • Representing Compass Group UK&I and maintaining a positive brand image
  • Identifying opportunities for new food or service concepts to drive sales
  • Liaising between customers and our culinary and service teams to ensure we continue to exceed expectations
  • Supporting and training our teams, leading from the front to make sure everyone can excel in their role
  • Implementing and reviewing Health & Safety standards to ensure compliance across all catering and service teams.
Who you are:

Our ideal Retail Catering Manager will:

Essential

  • Advanced food hygiene
  • Previous experience working in a catering and cleaning management role within a hospital environment
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent client relationship skills, with prior experience working directly with clients
  • Operational expertise in the Catering discipline
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels
  • Excellent financial acumen, with previous experience managing large complex budgets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • IT literate (including word, excel, and email)
  • Able to produce clear, accurate reports (monthly report to client / business case)
  • Act as a role model / ambassador for Compass
  • Be aware of and understand the quality standards such as Environmental Health
  • Able to deputise for the deputy Contract Director in their absence

We're recruiting an experienced Retail Catering Manager who is passionate about exceptional food and world-class customer service, and who can confidently oversee all Compass Group UK&I catering and service operations for Healthcare on a full time basis, contracted to 35 hours per week.
