What it's like to work here

Our visitors come to Lizard & Penrose and West Cornwall for the unspoilt coast with its imposing headlands, hidden coves and stunning beaches and surrounding countryside has to offer. Many of our visitors stay a little longer in one of our 24 holiday cottages. There are a variety of buildings offering very different experiences including historical Godolphin House, Marconi’s Wireless Cottage, idyllic Powders Cottage on the Helford River, the coastal Winnianton Farmhouse in Gunwalloe and rural cottages like Bosigran Cottage in West Cornwall and The Count House Cottage in Poldark land of Botallack.

What you'll be doing

You'll deliver brilliant customer service to our guests in line with our procedures. Collaboration will be essential, as you'll be working with the wider National Trust local teams, as well as our Holidays bookings team and offer all round internal service delivery. You'll ensure consistent delivery of the operation across the area and achieve high levels of visitor happiness.

The role is a mix of desk-based tasks as well as being out and about at the holiday cottages, travelling in our widespread portfolio. Saturday work will be needed on a rotational basis. Confident with using Microsoft Office and being creative with spreadsheets, you'll keep the team on track with quality standards, risk and compliance and be a great people manager.

Our Holidays Assistants who clean our cottages will look to you for your supervisory experience and you will get the best from the team through training, coaching and development to deliver a consistent offer following the National Trust Holidays toolkits. Assisting in coordinating rotas in line with bookings, ensuring that changeovers are carried out following the Holidays Changeover Guide, and good stock control is essential.  Efficient purchasing and store management will minimise costs, improve sustainability and support the team. You'll assist with recruitment too, growing the team and providing clear induction and training using the Induction Toolkit.

You’ll assist in responding to daily incidents raised by our guests and carry out risk and compliance tasks making sure everyone is safe. You'll enjoy tackling ad-hoc tasks helping to maintain the high standard that Lizard & Penrose and West Cornwall Holidays are known for.
