Overall Purpose of the Role:

To be a key player in the Event Management team looking after a range of events from the planning through to the post event follow up. You will be the main client contact dealing with all catering requirements.

Objective and Principal Job Function:

To ensure the smooth running of your events in an organized manner, with the aim of maintaining and delivering expectations set out by management in an effective manner for both event days and non-event day's requirements.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Principal contact between Leith's and the client, selling, developing, organising and managing conference and event catering

To respond to all incoming catering enquiries within 24 hours Flexibility to deal with a wide range of issues that may occur during the working day

Ensure client requirements are communicated to the highest possible standard Advise clients on the best way to manage their event and suggest alternatives if appropriate

Building relationships with clients, whilst maximising all business opportunities through upselling; including follow up calls with clients to ensure satisfaction and to explore the possibility of repeat business

Monitor all standards of service, particularly food quality

Monitor suppliers in terms of quality, price and service

To work closely with the Leith's Event Managers to achieve good financial results and support where necessary

Responsible for all client meetings, whether face-to-face or by telephone. To be involved in showrounds and requirements meetings for events

Responsible for ensuring client contracts and prepayments have been received prior to the actual event day

Responsible for creating Catering Schedules for clients confirming all of their catering requirements, and liaising with clients regularly to ensure all last minute changes and requests are met on the event day

Being able to react in situations regarding operational issues

Holding Menu Tastings for clients who request this prior to an event

Responsible for promoting the Centre and Leith's, creating an opportunity to sell to clients

To ensure that a high quality of work, personnel presentation and communication is kept by all staff members of Leith's

To keep a tracking system and client database for past, current and prospective clients, providing information for the Divisional Sales Manager on a regular basis

To attend departmental meetings

To work closely with the Head and Sous Chef when dealing with clients who require bespoke menus

Paying close attention to the colour, texture, nutritional content and cost of menus To work closely with suppliers for upselling to clients at the first opportunity
