Project and Maintenance Manager - Bagshot, Surrey

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project and Premises Maintenance Manager. The role will involve UK-wide travel to our stores and occasional attendance at the Surrey Head Office, with the majority of time spent in the M25 area.  

The key tasks will be to project manage minor works and makeover projects across the estate, manage all room conversion projects, including preparing drawings to final sign-off of invoices and to personally carry out small repairs in the Big Yellow and Armadillo estate.

Key activities of the role:

• To visit stores and prepare plans and schedules for minor works and makeover projects, obtain costings from external suppliers, project manage delivery of the works.  Also identify and manage any associated works, i.e. security, fire alarms, intruder alarms
• To liaise with the Facilities Manager, Helpdesk Co-ordinators and external suppliers with regard to carrying out minor works and makeover projects.  Use the Ostara CAFM portal to raise associated quotes and work orders, proactively tracking the spend against budget for all projects (please note, full training will be given in the use of the Ostara CAFM portal)
• To prepare, execute and manage room conversion work across the Big Yellow and Armadillo estate to a high standard and with minimum disruption to store staff and customers.
• To carry out small repairs and maintenance works at stores to ensure customer service levels are maintained
• To procure materials and equipment required for carrying out the various projects
• To reconcile and approve invoices for the various projects
• To ensure Health & Safety compliance is maintained in all works under the control of the Premises Maintenance Manager, including external contractors.
• To maintain a positive approach, demonstrating initiative, commitment and flexibility to overcome challenge.
• To liaise with other members of the Facilities team and Bagshot and store staff
• To operate and take responsibility for the company van

Essential Requirements:

• Able to carry out small repairs and maintenance work at our stores and small room conversion projects (no plumbing or electrical work)
• Able to work unsupervised, organise own workload and operate in a multi-site environment
• Possess IT skills, ideally including use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Experienced in remote management of contractors and external suppliers
• Excellent planning, organisational and communication skills
• Able to measure, quantify and cost room conversion projects
• Attention to detail, organised and practical, with a common sense and commercial approach
• A full, clean driving licence
• Confident in dealing with contractors and staff at all levels of an organisation
• Prepared to travel throughout the UK and stay away from home for up to four nights when required and have a flexible approach to working hours to ensure efficiency and minimise travel time
