We, at the Hilton Garden Inn Silverstone, the home of the British Formula One Grand Prix, are really excited to announce that we are now recruiting for a Commercial Manager to join our team and lead our hotel to victory.

The Hilton Garden Inn Silverstone is situated directly on the Hamilton straight of Silverstone circuit with 197 bedrooms & suites offering views of the famous asphalt that can convert into hospitality boxes during the major events at the circuit. With all the right mechanics for our guests including a fitness suite, coffee shop, trackside restaurant with terrace the hotel is completed with a showpiece Rooftop bar.  

As Commercial Manager, you will create and implement the commercial strategy by managing revenue streams, marketing activity and implementing and delivering sales strategies along with developing a high-performing sales team worthy of a spot on the winners podium.

And of course you are not alone in pursuing success - you will be supported by a great team of commercial experts on regional level in addition to the team you will be able to build, develop and lead.

Furthermore you will be responsible for working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and with Silverstone’s own sales team to maximise all revenue opportunities for the Hotel.

The purpose of a Commercial Manager role is:

    Develop in conjunction with the General Manager and leadership team at group level a commercial strategy that is robust, maximises revenue opportunities and correctly positions our hotel within the marketplace. Manage and lead a high performing sales team day-to-day to achieve set goals reflected in the hotels commercial strategy contributing to the overall group strategy. Ensure our selling rates are in line with our commercial strategy – this will involve developing a close, effective working relationship with our central revenue team. Manage the hotels revenue and booking systems ensure the information is accurate and up-to-date to allow the hotel maximise yield and ADR. To take decisions relating to the commercial performance of the hotel by ensuring all decisions contribute towards the achievement of KPIs and financial targets. Work with all stakeholders to achieve maximum business performance for all. To develop and lead the sales culture within the hotel, working with team at Silverstone to create a fluid, cohesive process to selling the facilities on site as one team from initial show round and enquiry, to delivery of the event, to the follow up communication looking for opportunity to rebook future business. To manage key accounts – building relationships with key contacts, monitoring key account productivity and cross selling the group at all opportunities. To implement procedures to monitor all enquiries incoming and using the information to analyse lost, cancelled or turned down business opportunities ensuring actions are put in place based on the findings of the analysis. Having an active presence in the community both locally and nationally – attending networking events, exhibitions, local events, sponsorship opportunities. Complete month-end reports and to be able to provide detailed commentary on progress and activities. Actively involved in budget preparation and business forecasting. Identify potential new business opportunities and highlight risk situations using market intelligence and keeping in line with trends. Creation and delivery of a creative marketing plan that helps establish our hotel within the marketplace both locally and nationally. Stay up to date with Hilton initiatives and communicate them to team members. Ensure Team Members have the correct knowledge for all relevant processes, policies and promotions, as necessary, to perform their duties. Manage staff performance in compliance with company policies and procedures. Direct reports are: Sales Manager – proactive sales activity/Sales Co-Ordinator – reactive sales activity. Recruit, manage, train and develop the hotels sales team.
