Stoke-on-Trent Theatres are currently looking for a number of Casual Technicians to join their Technical Team.
We are part of the Ambassador Theatre Group, an extraordinary success story in the live entertainment industry. Founded in 1992 in the UK, we’ve grown into the world’s number one live-theatre company today. We cover every discipline in the theatre industry, from operating venues to ticketing platforms and producing shows. You'll be joining the company at an exciting time as we prepare to bring back live entertainment in 2021.
This is an exciting time, as we continue to maintain our reputation for providing world class theatre and events. Our stage and electrics team are instrumental in providing the touring shows and in-house productions exceptional standards of technical support from get-in to load-out. This role will require a dynamic, adaptable and flexible attitude and you must be willing to work unsociable hours.
Main Purpose
The role involves working across our two venues providing information and assistance to visiting cast and crew during get-ins, shows and get-outs. You will ensure that the presentation and cleanliness of all backstage areas are at the highest possible standard and take an active role in evacuation/health and safety procedures.
Essential Qualities
We are looking for confident, friendly, proactive people who can engage with a diverse range of people and adapt to varying situations. You must be able to keep calm under pressure and have a professional attitude at all times.
We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and strive to provide a stage for everyone. Onstage and off, we hold ourselves accountable for nurturing an inclusive culture.
We are a Disability Confident Committed Employer, which means that we are taking action to ensure that people with disabilities and long-term health conditions feel supported, engaged and able to fulfil their potential in the workplace. We will offer an interview or recruitment event to disabled candidates who tell us they wish to participate in the scheme and who demonstrate in their application that they best meet the essential criteria for the role. Where we receive more applications than we are reasonably able to interview for any given role, we will retain applications for the next available interview opportunity wherever possible.
If you’d like to discuss accessibility prior to applying, please review our job description where you can find our contact details to request a confidential discussion.
