Welcome & Service Assistant Manager - Bridport, Dorset



As the Welcome Service Assistant Manager, it’s your role to support the Welcome Manager in the management of the Welcome and Service Assistants and volunteers at Hive Beach. You'll lead by example to ensure everyone feels welcome, creating an exceptional service culture, developing and supporting the team to deliver an outstanding, tailored and relevant service and experience to your visitors. 

You'll help deliver the day-to-day operations of the visitor experience at Hive Beach, ensuring that visitors have inspirational experiences with us, and that your team take personal responsibility to resolve problems or concerns. 

Weekend working will be a regular requirement in this role. This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year

 North and West dorset Countryside is a major tourist destination, with beaches, coastal walks and access to beautiful countryside. Hive Beach is the main operational hub, where the Welcome Team greet our visitors to our coast, and beaches.?

What you'll be doing

As the largest conservation charity in Europe we work hard to raise funds, so that we can continue to care for all the heritage in our trust. Visitors are a vital part of what we do, so you’ll be responsible for ensuring that you provide an excellent service to all our visitors. 

You’ll also be responsible for the day-to-day management of Hive, answering queries and making sure visitors can find everything they need for their visit. When interacting with our customers, you’ll inform them of the amazing work we are doing and what their money is funding, promoting local projects or our national strategy.  

You'll be happy working alone, outdoors and on your feet in all weathers. You'll identify tasks, prioritise your time and check in with the team. You'll be?conscientious?and take pride in looking after the?daily operation and presentation of the place you work.

Who we're looking for

To be fantastic in this role you’ll need:

  • Genuine enthusiasm for working with people 
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • The ability to work to sales targets, and confidently sell our membership benefits 
  • Good understanding of the National Trust and what we do
  • A willingness to learn new skills, and a can do attitude 
  • Experience of working in a customer service or sales team
  • Some cash handling experience  
  • A Full UK Driving Licence, and be happy to drive our vehicles around the properties
