As Head Housekeeper, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering all KPIs in line with company objectives, whilst working closely with the management team
  • Ensuring the highest quality of cleanliness and maintenance in the bedrooms, bathrooms and public areas with a key emphasis on standards, Health & Safety, sustainability and cost control. You will develop, coach and lead your team to support you in all of the above areas.
  • Planning team rotas and management of the payroll system, which includes inputting rosters, ratifying hours worked, entering annual leave and sickness.
  • The recruitment and selection of the housekeeping team which includes departmental induction, training, and ensuring all right to work documentation is signed off on Day 1 and in line with company protocols
  • Managing the relationship linen suppliers and any other third party contractor
  • Managing the purchasing, re-ordering and maintenance of housekeeping supplies and inventory based on departmental budgets and ensuring supplies are being controlled and managed which includes completing stock takes when requested
  • Working closely with the maintenance team arranging repairs and maintenance of the rooms and public areas and ensuring maintenance requests are followed up and issues rectified immediately.
  • Working closely with Reception to prepare the rooms required for early arrivals, VIPs and other guest requests
  • Scheduling and maintaining records of planned deep cleaning

What we're looking for:

  • Previous experience as a Head Housekeeper or Housekeeping supervisor with proven experience at problem solving and working under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent managerial skills with a hands-on approach and lead-by-example work style
  • Commitment to exceptional guest service with a passion for the hospitality industry
  • Experience in using IT systems, and in particular Microsoft Office. We also use Opera PMS, so if you have experience in this, or another similar system, that would be an advantage
  • Great communication skills so you can chat to the team and of course our guests providing a great welcome
  • Flexibility – to enjoy working different shift patterns and seeing the operation on different days of the week including the weekends as well as mornings, or evenings (no split-shifts here). You may also be required to carry out some duty management shifts as required
