Trainee Swimming Teacher - Islington - Islington
Trainee Swimming Teachers
Up to 12.24 per hour
Positions available across Islington
If you have a passion and talent for swimming, you could be part of our team of Swimming Teachers and help give people of all ages a valuable life skill. We are the largest Swim School in the UK and our continued growth means we are looking to qualify and employ a growing number of Swimming Teachers. So, if you'd like the opportunity gain the qualifications and training needed to teach people of all ages and abilities how to swim, apply to be a Trainee Swimming Teacher. Successful applicants will be fully funded to complete their STA Level 2 Award in Teaching Swimming.
At BETTER, all of our Swimming Teachers are qualified to at least STA Level 2 Award in Teaching Swimming. The STA qualifications are nationally recognised and will give you the skills of how to teach non-swimmers, beginners and improvers. Once qualified, you will be apart of one of our Teaching Teams working with a Lead Teacher to support you in your day to day role.
Being a Swimming Teacher is really rewarding, as you'll thrive on supporting people to achieve their potential. Naturally, there'll be some administration involved, but rest assured that, once qualified, almost all of your time will be spent teaching, working with a range of ages and abilities.
We are looking for applicants who are:
A competent swimmer
A good communicator (verbal and non-verbal)
A good motivator (supportive and able to give feedback)
Approachable and patient in nature
Imaginative
Will to learn and commit to a 5 day intensive training course
Previous experience working with Children is desirable but not essential
Joining BETTER as a Trainee Swimming Teacher opens even more opportunities through our career pathway. We support staff to gain further teaching qualifications such as; STA Level 2 Certificate in Teaching Swimming and/ or STA Level 2 Award in Baby & Pre School, to progress to teaching advanced swimmers, school swimming, adults or even baby and Pre School. As you become more experienced and knowledgeable you could one day become one of our Lead Teachers managing your own Teaching Team.
We have a range of hours available cross weekdays and weekends.
