Summary

Are you an expert project manager looking to create landscape-scale change for nature and for climate? We are developing an ambitious series of nature recovery projects in the Yorkshire Dales and need an experienced and creative project manager to help make it happen.  
The role is based at our consultancy hub, Goddards in York. However, the expectation is that you will work regularly from our Malham Tarn office in the Dales. 
You'll work with colleagues, partners and tenant farmers to develop a phased plan for project delivery over the next 5+ years.  People engagement will be at the heart of what you do. Projects will include significant woodland creation and restoration, river and wetland restoration, identifying suitable species re-introductions and protection of this landscape’s cultural and historical integrity.
£42,588 pa 2 year fixed term initially. Interviews will be held 19th October.

What it's like to work here

As part of our Land & Nature consultancy team, you’ll sit alongside regional nature experts and other project managers delivering transformational landscape scale change across the North of England.  You’ll draw on the knowledge and expertise available throughout the National Trust and with our partners to support your work. 
As a dedicated project manager for the Yorkshire Dales, you will be fully integrated in the property operations team, working closely with the General Manager, Countryside Manager and Estate Manager. 

What you'll be doing

This is an exciting time to join us, as we are building on some great partnership work to drive forward national priority projects. You'll be delivering the Yorkshire Dales nature recovery long term vision, starting with feasibility and leading to a tangible programme with clearly defined workstreams and fundraising opportunity mapping. You'll accelerate delivery of a 5 year+ programme of landscape scale nature recovery which will deliver our strategic ambitions for nature, people and climate.
You'll lead with an excellent project management structure, clear governance, milestones and accountable management of risk. You'll manage the dedicated project support coordinator and develop a matrix team utilising expertise from across the property, wider regional resources of the National Trust and beyond. 
You’ll develop our project plan, manage budgets, commission work, and identify significant funding opportunities, reporting regularly to the project board.  
You'll develop excellent stakeholder and partner relationships both within the National Trust and beyond, to maximise joined up landscape scale delivery for nature.

Who we're looking for

We’d love to hear from you if you have:
• Experience of successfully delivering complex end to end project/programme management, including defining resources, leading procurement securing project teams and matrix management across multiple projects/programmes
• You'll hold, or be working towards a recognised Project Management qualification (APM PMQ /Prince or similar) or Programme Management (MSP or similar) and demonstrate evidence of ongoing CPD in your career to date
• Excellent problem solving and influencing skills, able to confidently work with senior leaders • Experience of managing complex and difficult external stakeholder relationships
• One project/programme specific criteria.
