Head of Technology Infrastructure, Service & Operations - Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire
Reporting to the Butlins IT Director the role "Head of Technology Infrastructure, Service & Operations "will define, implement, and govern the management of the technology platforms & services that underpin Butlins Skyline limited.
A dynamic, transformational IT leader will work closely not only with fellow IT stakeholders but across our resorts to ensure guests who "are ready to Butlin's" experience the very best breaks and family entertainment built on the foundations of secure, reliable, scalable, performant and resilient Information Technology.
Far from maintaining status quo, this strategic leadership role will be responsible for many elements of the organisations IT activities including:
Vendor selection, onboarding and management of outsource providers.
Ensuring that outsourced providers deliver against agreed OLA's and SLA's.
Network, Network Architecture and Network Operations.
Guest, Team and Business connectivity solutions.
Cloud & Cloud Operations.
Data Centre, Central Support Office & Park Infrastructure.
End User Compute. (Direct line management responsibility)
Cyber and Security Operations.
Resort IT operations.
Strategic direction for all elements of this roles responsibility.
Budget and Financial accountability.
Key to this role will be the ability to deliver a vision and strategy for IT that will enable ambitious business growth plans. encompassing all elements of IT, including, operations, infrastructure, support, cyber security, programme delivery and data management. This role requires a very specific individual who has the expertise and understanding of complex IT and can communicate that appropriately to all stakeholders across the organisation, including the IT Director, Finance Director and CEO.
In the short term the role will govern our centralised Group IT function ensuring transitional IT activity and support continues to be provided whilst future target state strategic roadmaps are designed and resourced. The role will be accountable for ensuring Butlin's compliance with BLL IT policies whilst we are in the transitional state. This role will ensure new delivery partners are sourced and long-term relationships built paving the way for Butlins to operate successfully as an independent standalone organisation.
Although a member of a strong IT leadership function under the guidance of the Butlins IT Director, the "Head of" will be self-motivated, driven, and accountable for delivery in the technology areas defined above. Often working in isolation to research, mature and propose solutions to a wide range of technology challenges, the "Head of" will succeed in the delivery of (but not limited to):
Reducing the Butlins technology footprint & reliance on legacy compute platforms.
Reducing technical debt thus increasing security and compliance levels.
Modernising IT platforms to increase stability, scalability, and performance.
Improving the ability to execute disaster recovery plans.
Increasing observability, monitoring, and alerting.
Improving the Butlins technology service offering to our Guests, Owners, and team members.
Standardising operational support.

Ensuring systems are safe and secure.
The "Head of" will also assist and support other technology leads across Digital, Solutions Architecture and Business Processes to ensure Butlins drive continuous Information Technology improvements.
