Hotel Manager - Glasgow

purpose 
The hotel manager is responsible for all aspects of the hotel’s operation; working collaboratively with the different departments in the support office, creating the optimal working climate to enable the hotel team to deliver the desired guest experience

 key responsibilities

• actively seek ways to deliver a memorable guest experience at citizenM and empower and inspire the hotel team to do the same
• lead, train and coach the hotel team to improve service and to support the operational success of citizenM
• develop and nurture talent within the team and provide feedback via monthly and yearly evaluations
• oversee hotel staffing to ensure efficient workforce management
• maintain the hotel environment and building to ensure a clean, safe and comfortable experience in accordance with citizenM brand promises
• demonstrate exceptional product knowledge of canteenM, societyM and CloudM and with that overseeing F&B revenue targets and purchasing of all food and beverage items and hotel operating equipment
• manage stock in line with fluctuating levels of business, minimizing waste, and delivering a monthly stock report
• regularly report to the support office on financial performance of the hotel, payroll, invoicing, and human resources
• maximise revenue opportunities and control costs in line with budgets, while providing added value to hotel guests
• cash management
• represent citizenM within Glasgow, promoting the company values to an external audience in support of growth
• establish and maintain strong relationships with local strategic partners and third parties inc. but not limited to local government, resident associations, tenants & industry associations

qualifications / skills

• enjoy being in a dynamic 'hands on' work environment
• are an open and positive team leader
• ensure a working understanding of legislation that governs the operation of a hotel and its activities in the Glasgow area: including employment law, health and safety, food safety, alcohol licensing, first aid and fire safety
• excellent level of English

locations / hours

• The position will be based at citizenM Glasgow, and might require travel to our support office in The Netherlands and other citizenM properties from time to time. This is a full time position.
