A part-time role assisting our Fine Art & Sculpture Curator, Grant Ford

We have a unique and rare opportunity to join the Carden Park team as a Fine Art Advisor.  We are seeking a bright and energetic person for two days a week, to support and work with our fine art and sculpture curator Grant Ford . This exciting role will require exemplary sales skills and a plethora of knowledge to enable the vending of fine art throughout the resort.  Good organisational and time management skills are essential for this role, alongside a genuine passion to nurture and grow relationships between vendors and buyers.

Supporting the Curator with:

  • Responding to client enquiries on site and online and being available/accessible to answer enquiries. This will also include follow-ups and putting together organised systems for client communication. 
  • Working with consignors (artists and sculptors) on current and future exhibits, including close working with marketing teams to facilitate and achieve maximum exposure for organised exhibits.
  • Liaising with marketing departments and making sure staff and clients know about the garden and works for sale.
  • Condition checking and taking photos/ keeping meticulous records. Making sure all areas are aesthetically pleasing and attractive to prospective purchasers.
  • Researching certain works, styles, patterns and trends including written entries for websites
  • Assisting with Grant Ford Ltd and Carden Park websites to make sure presentation is excellent and up to date.
  • Making sure all signage is clear and relevant.
  • Overseeing and managing sculpture arriving and departing and keeping correlating records 
  • Working on logistics and shipping with consignors and buyers.
  • Working with the Marketing Department at Carden Park /exploring partnerships and cross marketing opportunities.
  • Exploring and helping organise Sculpture & Art events with the hotel: talks / tours, dinners, functions etc.
  • Overseeing new exhibitions coming in and working collaboratively with maintenance teams for hanging / erecting.
  • Exploring press and editorial opportunities and reaching out to external sources.
  • Sourcing new exciting exhibits
  • Refreshing exhibits and rotating them around the building to provide maximum exposure to target audiences.

This role will be a self-employed role.  You must have a genuine love and enthusiasm for art, have excellent communication skills and have great organisational skills.
