Outreach Library Manager (Home Delivery Librarian) - Wandsworth

Home Delivery Library Officer

Based: London Borough of Wandsworth

GLL is looking for a full time (36 hours per week) Outreach Library Manager based in the London Borough of Wandsworth. This role involves managing a small team of driver's assistants, providing stock and information to housebound residents, nursing homes and hospitals, and to deliver stock around the borough's libraries. As Outreach Library Manager you'll be involved in everything from selecting stock, daily van checks and making deliveries to customers. You'll build good relationships with our customers and your colleagues to provide a high quality service and ensure the Home Delivery Library service is an integral part of the community. For long periods of the day you'll be working alone, but you can make a real impact on customer's lives: you may be one of the few people they see in person, on a regular basis. There is also a daily delivery van to the libraries which you'll also be expected to provide cover for as and when needed.

You'll ideally come from a library background, but it'll be your enthusiasm for helping others and devotion to customer care that makes you really stand out. You'll have a passion for reading and promoting books, along with excellent people skills. It is essential that you hold a full UK driving license with no endorsements. This role can be immensely rewarding. You can make a real difference to people's lives by helping those who are unable to access the library service themselves.

In return, we offer a range of benefits including pension schemes, childcare vouchers and ongoing opportunities for training and development.

If this sounds like you, apply now.
