Salary: £45,000 to £50,000

Due to the continued growth and success of the business, we require an experienced Health, Safety & Risk Manager to ensure the business is proactive in adhering to, implementing, and promoting our legal health and safety obligations and ethical standards.

This exciting opportunity is core to supporting the business in achieving its Safety, Health, and Environmental objectives. We are looking for an exceptional individual who will enjoy working as part of this growing, successful company and is looking to play a critical long-term role in its success.

What will this role entail?

• Accountability for the effective risk compliance strategy, providing oversight and assurance to ensure that the business meets regulatory/legislative requirements, whilst reducing criminal incidents and accidents.
• Develop, lead, and implement a robust H&S compliance framework, ensuring a compliant working environment, with the business identifying/meeting wider regulatory requirements to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.
• Designing and implementing an overall risk management process for Zip World, which includes an analysis of the financial and reputational impact on the company when risks occur
• Performing risk evaluations: Evaluating our previous handling of risks, and comparing potential risks with criteria set out by the company such as costs and legal requirements, and environmental factors
• Carrying out processes such as purchasing insurance, implementing health and safety measures, and making business continuity plans to limit risks and prepare for if things go wrong
• Provide hands-on development of risk models involving market, credit, and operational risk, assure controls are operating effectively, and provide research and analytical support.
• Preparing risk management and insurance budgets, maintaining records of insurance policies and claims.
• Risk reporting tailored to the relevant audience. (Educating the board and directors about the most significant risks to the business; ensuring business heads understand the risks that might affect their departments; ensuring individuals understand their own accountability for individual risks
• Reviewing any new major contracts or internal business proposals against our risk model
• Building risk awareness amongst staff by providing support and training within the company and sharing of learning across the organisation through the defined processes.

What will I need in order to be considered for this role?

• Relevant qualifications: CMIOSH / NEBOSH / AIRM
• Self-educating, curious and pragmatic, solution-oriented mind-set
• Credible and professional, with sound commercial judgment and an ability to think through the broader implications
• Experience in developing and implementing business risk management strategies
• Ambitious, innovative, and driven to provide excellence and success
• Experience of working in a fast-paced environment
• Motivated towards the simplification of systems whilst remaining compliant with legislative requirements
