JOB SUMMARY                                                                               

To carry out planned preventative maintenance, and repair breakdowns to the hotel's plant equipment and building fabric. To complete records of task sheets on completion of work to ensure accurate records are maintained. To be aware, and abide by, all hotel procedures and rules (as well as all relevant Health & Safety legislation).  Maintaining the hotel's appearance to maximise guest satisfaction.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Experience:

Previous experience within a Maintenance/Engineering role in a similar style of operation preferred but not essential

Skills and Knowledge

• Strong Communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)
• Pro-active and reliable
• Able to work alone and within a team
• Flexible hours in line with business needs
• Must be well presented and have excellent personal hygiene

Education or Certification

• Good level of English essential

SPECIFIC DUTIES 

The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:

2. Carry out planned preventative maintenance, as detailed in the work instruction sheets and schedules.
3. Attend to, promptly and efficiently, all work requests submitted to maintenance department where possible on the maintenance log.
4. Ensure that all work is carried out professionally, and the area left safe, clean and tidy.
5. Ensure that all work is carried out in line with Marriott procedures and standards.
6. Ensure that all work is carried out to Health & Safety specifications, both legislative and Marriott.
7. Attend to, or report any defects, or Health & Safety matters brought to your attention.
8. Maintain a written record of all maintenance work, ensuring that all details are clear and accurate.
9. Work to a shift rota system, to provide coverage as required by the hotel.
10. Support and assist with MRT duties as per the schedule.
11. To be aware of the facilities, and have sound facilities knowledge of the hotel
12. To actively take part in all training sessions.
13. To actively take part in all energy management and conservation issues.
14. To ensure that spares and combustibles are kept secure, and met all Health & Safety requirements, and to keep all stock levels to correct amounts.
15. To maintain all tools and test equipment in good working order.
16. To keep workshop and plant rooms clean and tidy at all times.
17. Carry out the day-to day maintenance requirements of the hotel to the highest possible standards.
18. Guest maintenance requests are to be carried out as priority, to maximise guest satisfaction and room availability.
19. Ensure plant rooms, storage areas and workshops are clean at all times.
20. All work carried out is in compliance with legislative Health & Safety laws.
21. Maintenance standards are to be met at all times.
22. Uniform is to be worn, and polite and helpful manner portrayed towards guests and associates at all times.

OTHER

• Performs other related tasks as assigned by management.
• Complies with Marriott International Hotels Limited Regional Office policies and procedures.
• Working hours as required to do your job but normally not less than your contracted hours
• Full Apprenticeship offered from Babcock training
