Outdoor Activities Instructor (Flexible Hours)

Based: Ghyll Head Outdoor Education & Activity Centre

16.55 (18.55 including A/L) per hour

 

GLL is looking for Freelance Outdoor Education Instructors to be based at Ghyll Head Outdoor Education & Activity Centre in the Lake district National Park.

 

You will be working at Manchester's Residential Outdoor Centre, delivering high quality outdoor education to children and adults. The role involves ensuring the health and safety of staff and customers, and guaranteeing the highest standards of service.

 

You must hold all of the following qualifications:
  • Summer Mountain Leader,
  • Rock climbing Instructor
  • BCU level 2 Canoe Kayak or UKCC level 2 with bolt ons or BC Paddlesport Coach Kayak/Canoe
  • RYA Level 2 Powerboat driver
  • Hold a clean driving licence with D1 entitlement for minibuses.
  • You will have worked for a minimum of three years in the outdoor sector and be able to demonstrate at interview a wide ranging knowledge of the impact of outdoor education on young people.

 

Desirable:
  • Local cave leader,
  • RYA Dingy Instructor.
  • Experience working with SEND groups.

This position is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
