Job Description

The Master Data Team are a critical part of the Operations function. In this position the Master Data Administrator will be responsible for completing master data maintenance for our ERP and other systems to ensure all master data is accurate, properly authorised and integrated in support of the data processes of the Data Management Organisation. The Master Data Administrator works collaboratively with process leaders, end users, and senior leadership, to gather data quality and governance requirements and reports directly to the Master Data Manager and is responsible for defining, interpreting and implementing data quality and governance solutions across all business processes. The Master Data Administrator provides detailed process knowledge for prioritised projects.

  • Independently perform routine Master Data process tasks and activities for new or existing data objects, such as: Product, Customer, Vendor, Pricing, Hierarchy, Promotions and SOA's.
  • Assist in identifying possible streamline capabilities on all areas of Master Data inputs.
  • Assess and analyse the current master data Create/Change/Delete processes and develop strategies working with key stakeholders to improve process efficiencies and thus improving the satisfaction of external and internal customers.
  • Clean and/or improve master data attributes, when directed, in the primary databases by updating and deleting erroneous, out-of-date and redundant data.
  • Work directly with internal business partners to ensure data submissions are compliant with internal audit requirements, troubleshoot, identify data quality and process improvement opportunities.
  • Provide input and guidance regarding master data and data quality standards and processes to business and solution teams.
  • Develop and implement recommendations to increase efficiency and streamline processes through building a sustainable infrastructure, automation, and process improvement.
  • Optimizing processes by implementing workflows and/or tools to ensure efficient handling of requests.
  • Occasionally participate as a contributing resource on projects and/or owns project responsibility for non-complex projects.
  • Act as a Training resource for new and junior employees.
  • Work daily with team members to transact and prioritise requests for data entry.
  • Assist Business Support Manager to prepare files for mass updates.
  • Able to troubleshoot errors or issues in processing.
  • Responsible for standardising data naming, establishing consistent data definitions, monitoring/auditing the data quality.
  • Identify, analyse and report/resolve data issues, related to uniqueness, integrity, accuracy, consistency and completeness.
  • Utilising the SOA Portal and Promotion dashboard to monitor and report on margins that are falling below or exceeding the specified limits.

Qualifications

  • Good commercial knowledge.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience of Master Data maintenance and cleansing.
  • Excellent PC Skills with advanced level MS Excel.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving and data analysis skills.
  • Flexibility to respond to unanticipated situations, able to manage multiple demands and establish priorities.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and effectively engage with individuals at all levels within the organisation.
  • Strong work ethic with a positive, hands-on, can-do attitude and ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Self-starter, able to work under occasionally stressful situations, can be flexible to meet the demands of the business and be a team player.
  • Understands the impact to the business resulting from the changes in standards, processes and data quality.
  • Strong time management
