Location: Cobham Training Ground, Stamford Bridge, Kingsmeadow and match day events

Hours: Permanent – 40 hours, any 5 from 7

What We’re Looking For:

We’re looking for a Communications Executive to join the team with a main focus on assisting the Senior Communications Manager in managing external media activity in relation to the Chelsea Foundation and Women’s team. The exec will promote the work and campaigns of the Chelsea Foundation as well as assist in delivery of the Club’s strategic messages. 

  • To ensure the Foundation’s work reaches a wider audience including fans, stakeholders and media outlets.
  • To support social media campaigns to highlight the Foundation’s work.
  • Assist with press office responsibilities for Chelsea Women.
  • Assist with external media commitments for the Women’s Team, ensuring compliance with all contractual media obligations for relevant competitions
  • Assist in player engagement with all media across TV, print, radio and online to deliver increased positive coverage of the club and its players both in the UK and internationally
  • Counsel and brief the Women’s team players on sporting and wider organisational issues, ensuring they are fully prepared for all media activity.
  • Assist with managing the relationship of the Women’s team with domestic and international media across all platforms, enhancing their standing while providing appropriate access.
  • Proactively seek new opportunities for content and stories
  • Support the team with written matchday content for the Club’s website including writing match reports and any pre or post-match interviews as required.

 
Must Haves/qualified by demonstrable experience to the level required:

  • Previous demonstrable PR/Communications experience.
  • Excellent writing skills and highly capable for a variety of purposes and audiences
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of traditional and social media.
  • Experience in dealing with high-profile personalities and media issues
  • Able to deal with sensitive situations tactfully and maintain confidentially at all times.
  • Experience managing campaigns and events.
  • Ability to work using own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Confident communicator.
  • IT self-sufficiency and fluent in Excel, PowerPoint, Work and Outlook is essential.
