Location: Chessington World of Adventures, Surrey KT9 2NE

Hours: Full time. Fixed term contract. Working weekends and bank holidays as required.

About the Role

The experience we are looking for is; the ability to operate shows independently, operate sound equipment, operate lighting equipment, ability to rig lighting, a simple understanding of set carpentry.

Our AV Technician will be responsible for operating a variety of Shows independently. They will also be responsible for operating and setting up various special effects and machines. They will also be responsible with the start-up procedures of the mane stage, mini stage, rangers club and any other areas production are responsible for.

They will also be working closely with fellow production personnel to help build and deliver our seasonal events, where we program show control systems, build set, make props, rigging lighting and audio systems around the park to deliver a high quality end product for our guests.

The ability to problem solve and overcome challenges is crucial in this dynamic environment, as we have very varying operations on park to deliver our products.

As part of the ‘Entertainment Production Team’, you will support the Technical Manager in the smooth running of all backstage operations, performances and events across the Resort. This is a perfect opportunity to challenge your technical skills Howl’o’ween is a perfect example of when your skills will be built on and challenged with our fantastic award-winning attractions, catering for ages 3-4 right up to 12-20.

About You

Our ideal candidate will be organised, passionate and proactive with the ability to work independently and it is crucial to be able to problem solve under pressure. We need you to have excellent communication skills combined with the important ability to follow instructions. Experience supporting live events is necessary, and experience of working within a theatre environment or live sound engineering is preferred but not essential.

An understanding of Technical Theatre Safety standards is necessary and crucial as Health and Safety plays an essential work in our environment.
