MI and Data Analyst - Management information and data team

 

Do you have an overall aim to develop Management Information (MI) and Business Intelligence (BI) solutions and reporting?  Can you support the business in its use of databases and applications,?  Can you use your own initiative, be self-motivated and manage a variety of tasks and issues at any one time?

 

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a pacey retail environment where data is at the heart of what we do. Working on both new and existing MI, the ideal candidate will be passionate about data visualisation and telling stories and providing insight.

The candidate will be a member of the MI Team, as part of the wider supply function within ASDA.  The main responsibility of the team is to make sure our data is easier to understand and interpret, which in return enables our stakeholders to make business decisions based upon factual, timely and well-presented information

 

Role responsibilities

  • Build and maintain reports using Tableau and Power BI, based on requirements from the business
  • Use key data tools to allow us to collate, modify and report data in an appropriate way.
  • Refine and effectively deliver MI requirements in line with the ever-changing business needs.
  • Internal stakeholder engagement
  • Form good working relationship with stakeholders.
  • Work on new and innovative forms of MI/BI tools

Required Skills

  • Strong working experience of using SQL.
  • Strong working experience of using Tableau and Power BI
  • Good knowledge of Excel and Databases.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
  • Flexible approach & likes working as part of a team.
  • Effective communication & influencing skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Priority management

Desirable Skills

  • Working knowledge and experience of using Alteryx
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft data packages such as Azure
  • Knowledge of tools such as TSQL and VBA
  • Knowledge of retail and / or supply chain.
