Introduction to the Cardiff Marriott Hotel

As the capital and largest city in Wales, Cardiff represents an attractive destination for both business people and tourists alike. The Cardiff Marriott Hotel is located in the heart of Cardiff and has a range of picturesque views which take in the Principality Stadium, Cardiff Bay and Castell Coch. These represent only a few of the activities available in the centre of Cardiff where there are other cultural and sporting institutions, as well as the Motorpoint arena and the National Assembly of Wales.

The Cardiff Marriott hotel caters for a whole range of guests by providing both a personal and friendly service, alongside our exceptional facilities, including our Market Kitchen Restaurant and our onsite gym. This alongside the exceptional transport links located on the hotels doorstep has allowed the Cardiff Marriott Hotel to firmly establish itself as a leading brand within the area.

 

The Role Itself and the Duties Involved  

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Front Office department for an Assistant Front Office Manager. The role itself is a permanent position and you will be expected to work 40 hours, per 5 day working week.

Main Duties Include:

  • Keeps Front Office team focused on the critical components of operations to drive guest satisfaction and the desired financial results.
  • Conducts department meetings and continually communicates a clear and consistent message regarding the Front Office goals to produce desired results.
  • Displays leadership in guest hospitality, exemplifies excellent customer service, and creates a positive atmosphere for guest relations.
  • Assists with Interviews and hires hourly associate team members with the appropriate skills and in a timely manner to meet the business needs of the operation.
  • Responds to and handles guest problems and complaints.
  • Managed department in line with all regional targets and initiatives relating to Front Office.

 

Qualifications and Skills

There are a range of qualifications, skills and characteristics we are looking for to successfully fill this role. These include:

  • Previous experience working within a hotel department or similar environment preferred.
  • Strong Communication skills (verbal, listening, writing) with a good level of English is essential.
  • PC Literate, with knowledge of Opera (desirable)
  • Strong adaptability skills in order to meet, guest, co-worker and business expectations.
  • Proactive and reliable.
  • Coaching and team-working skills.
