We are recruiting for a talented Personal Trainer

As a Personal Trainer your passion for fitness and love of supporting people reach their exercise goals will shine through whilst delivering a personalised 5* service.

  • Hours - Part Time - 24 hours per week
  • Salary - £23,000 (pro rata’d) + Excellent commission structure

The Personal Trainer is responsible for creating tailored fitness programmes for our members, motivating them and guiding them to achieve their goals. This person will assist our members on their health and wellbeing journey, depending on their personal goals, by teaching and assisting them to exercise and recovery the body and mind. This person knows how to build rapport and maintain positive relationship with members. This person must have solid understanding of the local demographic and surrounding competitors. They will drive awareness of The Body Lab offerings and overall brand image, internally and externally. This person is responsible to both current and potential members maintaining The Body Lab at the highest standards of customer service.

This role requires flexibility in order to meet the needs of our members, therefore a personal trainer is expected to work weekends and evenings in addition to normal office hours and work flexible hours to support the rota. They will be working with full-time and part-time Personal Trainers ensuring that all hours of operations are covered between 6am to 9pm on weekdays and 8am to 6pm weekends.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or Kinesiology
  • 2+ years of Personal Training experience required
  • Level 3 Personal Trainer Qualification
  • Additional certifications and/or specialisation preferable
  • Practical experience working or training in a gym environment
  • Ability to inspire members
  • Friendly and outgoing personality
  • Excellent people skills to enable you to work with a range of individuals with different backgrounds and motivations
  • Excellent oral communications skills
  • Great understanding of the human body and nutrition
  • Ability to deliver a high level of customer care
  • Be a role model for our members, by looking after your own health and wellbeing in order to promote a healthy lifestyle to others
  • High levels of enthusiasm and drive
  • Awareness and understanding of safeguarding practice and policy
  • Excellent time keeping and organisational skills
  • Ability to use information technology for a range of purposes such as record keeping, class scheduling, session reminders, client and group management and analysing members’ progress
  • Problem solving and stress management skills
  • Strong relationship builder with peers, members, vendor, always putting people first
  • A 'can do' attitude and have a passion for health, fitness and wellbeing.

The role:

  • Conducting fitness assessments to establish member fitness and skill level
  • Holding one-on-one or group sessions with clients
  • Identifying goals and creating tailored exercise and recovery plans
  • Monitoring your members’ progress
  • Providing advice to members on health, nutrition and lifestyle changes
  • Educating and advising members to maintain or reach their fitness and health goals
  • Keeping up to date with the latest personal training techniques and best practise
  • Helping members with their workouts
  • Creating and maintaining positive, professional and trusting relationships with members
  • Providing innovative and challenging exercises to keep members engaged and motivated
  • Proactively seeking and providing feedback in a manner which suits each individual member
  • Assisting with membership retention strategies for existing members
  • Accurately recording your members’ training sessions and tracking relevant paperwork
