Concierge - Macdonald Compleat Angler Hotel - Marlow, Buckinghamshire

About us:

Located on the banks of the River Thames with uninterrupted views of Marlow Bridge, Weir and All Saints Church, you'll find the world-renowned waterside property known as Macdonald Compleat Angler in the heart of Buckinghamshire. Dating back 400 years, the hotel takes its name from Izaak Walton's eponymous book, published in 1653. The hotel is a hub of social activity, home to 64 bedrooms, two restaurants and five event spaces. Location is everything, and there are plenty of reasons to indulge in this picturesque part of England; fishing, rowing, boat trips, family gatherings, romantic nights away, or a place to stay when attending significant calendar events such as Pub in the Park, Henley Regatta and Ascot Races.

About a role:

As a Macdonald’s Concierge, you will be vital in delivering an outstanding experience to all our guests. We see you as a real ambassador of our company, operating on the front line with an organised, proactive approach and a meticulous eye for detail.  This is a guest-facing, floor-based role designed to ensure our function and hotel guests receive the best possible service, whether here for a Team Building event or as a valued guest for a wedding.

Outline Job Description:

We are looking for a full-time Concierge to join our Reception team and act as an ambassador for the hotel, by assisting our guests with any requirements they may have throughout their stay.

  • To ensure that all interactions with guests are positive and the last impression is given of the hotel
  • To take responsibility for guest luggage, making sure it is stored correctly and it is correctly labelled. As well as parking or retrieving guest cars when requested.
  • To demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of in-room services to allow this to be shared with guests.
  • To be aware of daily events always taking place in the hotel to allow you to answer any queries from guests
  • To have excellent knowledge of the local area, including restaurants, shops, transport options, local events, attractions and tourist sights.
  • To book or confirm guest transportation, taxis, and boat trips, and keep a log.
  • To use our Property Management System to help Receptionists when required.

The role will involve working evenings and weekends due to the nature of the operation. There will be opportunities for the right person to develop and progress within the business.
