About us:

Located on the banks of the River Thames with uninterrupted views of Marlow Bridge, Weir and All Saints Church, you'll find the world-renowned waterside property known as Macdonald Compleat Angler in the heart of Buckinghamshire. Dating back 400 years, the hotel takes its name from Izaak Walton's eponymous book, published in 1653. The hotel is a hub of social activity, home to 64 bedrooms, two restaurants and five event spaces. Location is everything, and there are plenty of reasons to indulge in this picturesque part of England; fishing, rowing, boat trips, family gatherings, romantic nights away, or a place to stay when attending significant calendar events such as Pub in the Park, Henley Regatta and Ascot Races.

About a role:

As a Macdonald’s Reception manager, you will be vital in delivering an outstanding experience to all our guests.

Outline Job Description:

Looking for your next step? We have an exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion for hospitality, either wanting to progress in their career or with experience and looking to take on a new team in a new property. As Reception Manager, you will coach and develop our receptionists, concierges, and reservations team to deliver a world-class welcome to all of our guests. You will be responsible for all aspects of the reception operation, so you must be organised and have solid administrative ability and financial acumen. You will be the face of the business, seeing through every task and challenge to the end, becoming a key role in our hotel leadership team

  • Hire and train front-of-house staff
  • Create and maintain shift schedules
  • Oversee the FOH’s day-to-day operations
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by quickly resolving any issues
  • Facilitate efficient communication between front and back-of-house

The successful applicant will have had previous experience in a similar role within a four or 5-star hotel environment. Knowledge of Opera PMS would be preferred; however, not essential as training will be provided.

The role will involve working evenings and weekends due to the nature of the operation. 

Salary: £27K per annum - £28K per annum

Min 2 years experience in managing a team
