Sports Direct Malysia is currently looking for Group Financial Controller to join our growing team. 

Malaysia marks the first direct retail investment in Asia through a joint venture partnership with Malaysian owned MST Golf Group of companies, a well-established golf retailer and service provider in the region. Sports Direct Malaysia currently operates a total of 34 retail stores domestically and manages a proprietary SportsDirect.com e-commerce site for domestic and regional fulfillment. Job Description

  1. Overseeing and owning the financial month-end closing process and provide accurate financial statement and report to guide management decision making.
  2. Prepare and review annual reports to identify results, trends and financial forecast.
  3. Prepare and develop annual budget and financial plans for the company and ensure that actual performance is in line with budgets.
  4. Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies/ error in the system.
  5. Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and reviewing internal schedules and reports on monthly basis.
  6. Motivate and lead the team by clarifying roles, job scope and functions which fits in the company business operation.
  7. Collaborate with auditors to ensure that proper compliance with all regulations.
  8. Review and prepare the tax computation, propose proper tax planning to the benefits of the company and ensure all the tax regulatory are in compliance.

Qualifications

  1. Candidate must possess a Professional Qualification (ACCA/ CPA/ ICAEW/MICPA).


Additional Information

  • Preferably a hands on approach person
  • At least 20 years of relevant experience in Finance, accounting, corporate finance and Tax. Preferably from the retail environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and aggressive environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, highly motivated and result oriented.
  • Able to meet deadline and able to prioritise work with good time management.
  • Confident with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Required skill(s): Microsoft Office, MS Excel (Power Query, Power BI& other basic excel formula), MS Word & MS Power Point.
