Spa Manager - Liverpool, Merseyside

Hope Street Hotel sits in the heart of Liverpool’s Georgian quarter, with spectacular views across the city. Independent and multi award-winning, we have 149 bedrooms, two restaurants (The London Carriage Works –with 2 AA Rosettes and an AA Notable Wine List – and 1931 for casual dining), a gorgeous spa (awarded Five Bubbles by the Good Spa Guide), and eight conference and events spaces, including a private cinema.

Our spa is the largest in Liverpool, with an impressive thermal area, which includes a 15m indoor pool, outdoor vitality pool, herbal sauna, Himalayan salt sauna, steam room, tepidarium and experience showers. In addition, we have eight treatment rooms, double hammam, rasul, manicure/pedicure suite, gym, studio and a spa lounge serving drinks and light meals. REN Clean Skincare and Temple Spa are the luxury face and body products – chosen for all-round ethical and award-winning excellence.

We are looking for a great Spa Manager to lead and inspire the team, providing the very best relaxing spa experience to all our guests, aiming to exceed expectations, whilst ensuring financial targets are achieved and compliance with all health and safety requirements.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Oversee, manage and report accurately on all day-to-day activity in the spa.
  • Drive and support the team to ensure financial targets and KPIs are achieved.
  • Ensure that all parts of the spa operate within agreed quality standards, monitoring performance and feedback, taking appropriate action to learn, adapt and improve where necessary, to ensure the very best experience for our guests.
  • Memberships - attracting and retaining spa members, developing and strengthening relationships with members.
  • Arranging the timetable of exercise classes and personal trainers, ensuring the gym is maintained
  • Support and manage a growing team of spa professionals, overseeing regular training and development to maintain a strong committed team.
  • Ensure the spa complies with all legislation and requirements with regard to Health & Safety, including pool plant and water testing.
  • Ensuring the spa is presented in the best possible way at all times, taking action as required to maintain the highest possible standards.

The person we are looking for:

  • A minimum of three years’ management experience within a spa / health club at four/five-star standard
  • Strong experience in managing all aspect of a busy spa and health club operation
  • Experience of pool plant equipment and water testing
  • Commercially driven to help achieve targets and budgets
  • Good working knowledge of Premier Core and Rezlynx systems.
  • Ability to manage, develop and motivate a team to achieve its full potential
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ambitious, passionate and driven by 100% customer satisfaction
  • A self-starter and a team player
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours in line with business needs, including evenings, weekends and public holidays

This is an exciting and challenging role where no two days will be the same. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience and feel passionately about delivering the highest standards of guest service.
