Summary

The National Trust is a busy organisation that has a lot going on at all times - you can guarantee that no day is the same, so you’ll have to love variety and frequent changes in pace. This is a key role in supporting day to day operations and managing the systems, processes and procedures that enable the property team to deliver its strategic objectives. You’ll always champion best practice when it comes to business support and will be confident challenging the norm when you think there’s a better way of doing something.

Working arrangements for this role are 9am – 5pm, Tuesday to Saturday.

Interview dates: 26 and 27 July

What it's like to work here

Cragside is one of the most popular visitor attractions in the North East, welcoming around 250,000 every year. Located in stunning rural Northumberland, but only 30 miles from the vibrant city of Newcastle, working at Cragside allows you to enjoy the best of both worlds. With less congested travel than many parts of the UK and beautiful surroundings, the quality of life in Northumberland is great. The view from your office window is pretty amazing too!

The high performing team you will be joining is experienced in a broad range of disciplines. Everyone works closely together to look after Cragside for our visitors – both present and future – to enjoy. We know that the foundation of a great visitor experience is great teamwork, and your role is one of the most important cogs in that team.

What you'll be doing

You will be right at the heart of daily operations at the property. One moment you will be taking a phone call for a group booking, the next radioing a department to advise them a contractor will be with them shortly, the next placing an order for uniforms.

Known for your exceptional organisation and communication skills and your love of delivering first class support, you’ll be part of a small team providing a comprehensive administration service to your property. A natural multi-tasker, you will enjoy the variety of tasks you will perform to enable our Heads of Department, and their teams, to deliver the Trust’s strategy and objectives.

As well as ensuring efficient internal and external communications at the property and coordinating property diaries and movements, you’ll be confident using a variety of IT packages to create reports, keep accurate records, and manage processes. The role involves cash handling and reconciliation. You will also supervise the activities of business services volunteers.
