In a nutshell

As our Payments Analyst you will cover the completion of payments across the Virgin Atlantic group. Whilst resolving and taking care of highly complex process issues, and ensuring appropriate procedural documentation is produced to future-proof the service and avoid financial risk.

You will also support our offshore team, by providing training and coaching, sharing your knowledge and experience in your specific Payments area to enable improved customer service




Day to Day

You will be responsible for the following activities:

Identifying and proactively resolving complex process issues, and documenting procedures to ensure processes are in place for the future.
Collaborating closely with the business and the offshore team to resolve any open issues.
Support team with the production payment runs within the agreed payment terms, whilst ensuring the integrity of the data is accurate before being processed.
Completion of all payment runs, ensuring the data within banking systems is accurate. Whilst being an SME to the business for issues around payment queries.
Support with reconciling bank accounts and balance sheets to identify and resolve any exceptions. In addition, you will ensure the outsource team manage the resolution of rejected payments accordingly.
Offshore team training / coaching to raise standard of service to our customers, ensuring that ongoing procedural changes are implemented in a timely manner and team are confident in the delivery.
Review existing processes done both on and offshore; propose improvements to optimise efficiencies and streamline across the VAL Group. Identify any system issues and raise change requests / incidents where appropriate and managing to completion including UAT and implementation of changes.
Provide ad hoc project support and involvement in Working Capital wide tasks where required.



About you

Do you love working in a fast-paced environment, often spinning many plates at one?

In addition to the above, we are looking for our successful candidate to demonstrate the following:

Knowledge of systems used within the VAA Group i.e. Banking Systems, Oracle, TBX, Business Objects desirable.
End to end knowledge of the payment cycle.
Proven experience within a high volume, multi-currency payment's environment.
Numerical and methodical with high levels of attention to detail.
Effective communication skills, both spoken & written.
Strong Interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate closely with staff at all levels.
Good level of IT proficiency i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word.
