Working Hours: Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday,Friday,Saturday,Sunday,Variable Shift Rota - 08:30 - 16:30, 09:00 - 17:00, 09:30 - 17:30 - 20 hours per week

Atalian Servest is currently recruiting for a Porter to join our passionate and driven team in Bristol!

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • To ensure that all allocated floors have the correct par stocks for linen, amenities, Guest supplies and all equipment , to assist the Room Attendants with lifting heavy items such as furniture as required and to ensure that Guest requests are dealt with according to the Brand Standards at all times. To ensure that the cleanliness of allocated floors (including rubbish disposal) is maintained according to Brand Standards including corridors, lift landings, staff areas and fire escapes
  • To ensure that the expected standards of cleanliness according to Brand Standards are maintained in corridors, lift landings and all other public walkways including all fire escapes and staff areas at all times
  • To report general maintenance throughout the Hotel following the agreed hotel procedure
  • To assist the Room Attendants with any heavy lifting duties and support all periodic work, such as turning mattresses, removing net curtains etc ensuring that Manual Handling techniques are strictly adhered to
  • To assist the Floor Managers as required and support in all stock counts within the Housekeeping Department
  • To ensure that all Housekeeping Store Rooms are kept clean and tidy at all times and that all items are stored within our Health & Safety guidelines
  • To count and deliver clean linen to the maid service areas on allocated floors and to collect and remove any dirty linen/soft furnishings as required to the Laundry. To ensure that rejects and returns are recorded and brought separately to the linen roomTo collect all rubbish from the floors, ensure that it is sorted according to our Brand Standards and take it to the designated areas for the correct disposal procedure
  • To report to the Floor Manager any/all problems in carrying out the work allocated
  • To ensure that the linen/storage rooms are kept clean and tidy at all times
  • To vacuum all guest corridors and dust lights, pictures and skirtings on all allocated floors daily
  • To ensure that any lost property is brought to the Housekeeping office as an absolute priority
  • To ensure that all Balconies on your section are scrubbed periodically and signed off and reported as a completed periodic to the Floor Manager
  • Shampooing of bedrooms and corridors in your assigned areas, to be signed off as a periodic and reported as completed to the Floor Manager
  • To ensure that all guest request messages are treated with efficiency and as a priority and are delivered according to the laid down Brand standards, (E.g.) Use of guest name and time bound
  • To ensure that all back landings, fire exits and caged areas are scrubbed and swept periodically and reported as completed to the Floor Manager
  • Deliver and make extra beds, opening and making of sofa beds and supplying additional Guest supplies and towels as requested according to Brand Standards
  • Deliver and make up Baby Cots as requested
  • To assist Room Attendants with the splitting of beds into twins
  • To remove furniture from Guest rooms and Public Areas as requested ensuring that Manual handling Techniques are strictly adhered to and that it is correctly labelled and stored
  • To carry out any duties in Public Areas as requested
  • To be polite and courteous to all colleagues and ensure that you contribute to a happy work environment within the Housekeeping department and work as part of a team
  • To collect any deliveries as requested and put into allocated stores according to Brand Standard procedure
  • To be polite and courteous and greet all Guests you meet and assist any that require help
  • To maintain high standards of appearance and personal hygiene, to wear the correct uniform (no visible tattoos, hair to be tied back, no excessive make up or jewellery) according to the Brand Standards at all times.
  • To ensure that you are trained and aware of the proper use and control of all cleaning materials and equipment
  • To immediately report any suspicious packages and or characters to the supervisor
  • To uphold hotel regulations at all times
  • Use equipment to ensure that productivity is met and respect the machinery and environment at all times including reporting faults immediately they occur with equipment
  • To ensure that you sign and in and out at the beginning and end of every shift
