Volunteer (Libraries) - Wandsworth
Children's Services Volunteer
Based: Wandsworth Town Library
Volunteer
Wandsworth Town Library, operated by GLL, is looking for seasonal volunteers to help with the 2022 Summer Reading Challenge: Gadgeteers. With community at the heart of everything we do, as a Children's Services Library Volunteer, you will help with making sure that every young visitor to the library is welcomed into a clean, safe, and attractive environment that can service their needs and ensure that they want to keep returning.
The Summer Reading Challenge is an annual programme run by the Reading Agency in partnership with libraries all across the UK. The Challenge encourages readers 4-11 to read 6 library books and earn prizes over the summer holidays. Your role will include promoting and registering children to the programme, discussing children's reading with them and recording their progress, and distributing prizes. You can also assist with organising and providing a range of activities and events to support the Summer Reading Challenge. The role has the option to extend beyond the summer months if there is interest.
If you have the passion and skills for this role, please apply now.

We provide leading ICT facilities as well as books, e-books, audio books and DVDs as well as a programme of activities appropriate to the needs and interests of the communities that we serve.
