General Manager - Glasgow

Up to 55K basic 70K+ OTE

I am looking for an exceptional general manager for one of the largest premium family focused health and fitness clubs in Glasgow. The club has a huge membership base and a multimillion-pound turnover across a large sporting and leisure complex. As General Manager you are responsible for multiple income streams across memberships, retail, food and beverage, coaching and activity programs. It is a fun place to work and with constant innovation and investment, you'll be working at pace in an exciting and dynamic results-based business.

We are very keen to talk to high achieving leaders working at the premium end of the health and fitness, hotel, large retail superstores, or hospitality sectors who can demonstrate their leadership and commercial skills in positively influencing a high-end sales and service focused business to achieve great financial results and deliver an exceptional service to the members on every visit. As such we are looking for leaders who instinctively engage, influence, coach and direct their teams to deliver these objectives.

This is a role where you will be highly visible within the business, you'll need the presence, personality, and drive to make a difference in every facet of the operation and you will be unrelenting in driving operational standards. Commercially you will thrive in a culture that encourages and recognises entrepreneurial flair and allowing individual business units the opportunity to innovate and initiate localised plans whilst benefiting from well-established ways of working from a market leading and highly respected brand.

It is highly desirable if candidates have experience running a significant food and beverage operation as the clubroom operates a full menu throughout the day with a fully licenced bar and hosts multiple events and functions throughout the year for the club members and their guests. If you are not currently working within the fitness industry you will need to have a genuine passion and interest for health and fitness and be engaged in a healthy lifestyle.

As the general manager you must be prepared to work a flexible working pattern around the needs of the business which will include duty management shifts and some weekend working. My client offers a highly competitive basic salary of up to 55K with a significant opportunity to earn bonus that is paid out three times per year.
