Visitor Operations & Experience Manager - Droitwich

Summary

It’s an exciting time in the North Worcestershire portfolio, as we are implementing a major infrastructure project at Hanbury Hall that will transform the visitor offer.
This is a key role in the leadership team responsible for visitor operations and volunteering at Hanbury Hall, during a period of growth and development.
Alongside an enthusiastic team of staff and volunteers, you will deliver high-quality, memorable experiences for our visitors through creative programming and excellent service.  And as strategic lead for volunteering, you will coach other managers on all aspects of the volunteer journey - from planning and recruitment to management and training.

What it's like to work here

Hanbury Hall is a country house, garden and park set in the beautiful Worcestershire countryside.
You’ll report directly to the General Manager and join a large team of friendly, passionate staff and volunteers. You'll work in partnership with your leadership colleagues to deliver the property business plan, and no two days are ever the same, so you’ll never be bored!  You may get involved at other sites in the portfolio from time-to-time too.

What you'll be doing

If you like variety in your work, then this is the job for you. You might be devising a marketing and engagement strategy one day and running a volunteering event the next.
You'll directly line manage two Visitor Experience Officers – one focused on marketing and events, the other on volunteering and engagement - and a Welcome Manager with a small team of their own. You will be expected to manage budgets and deliver stretching targets.
As lead Duty Manager, you will ensure that day-to-day visitor operations run smoothly.  And with the Experiences & Programming team, you will make sure that all visitors to Hanbury Hall enjoy a great welcome and have lots of reasons to return.
It’s a 7-day operation, so weekend working will be necessary on a rota basis.

Who we're looking for

To be successful in this role you’ll need to have:
  • Leadership and influencing skills
  • Ability to build relationships and work with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional service
  • Creativity and a background of delivering great experiences for people
  • Willingness to be ‘hands-on’ both front-of-house and behind the scenes
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to juggle tasks
