Summary

The Salary: £22,000 per annum

The Hours: 37.5 hours per week, with a typical shift of 7.30am – 3.30pm. You won’t be required to work nights or split shifts and will be off on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Regular weekend work required.

Duration: This is a permanent role which offers realistic salary progression based on annual reviews.

What you'll be doing

We're looking for a Chef to join our busy kitchen team at the Coach House Café at Sheffield Park & Garden, East Sussex, catering to our extensive range of National Trust visitors and destination café customers.

As part of the kitchen team, you’ll assist in preparing meals using fresh, seasonal ingredients, and be confident creating cakes, bakes, soups and one-pots.

Nature, our local region and very own parkland and gardens are also at the heart of what we do; using your creative skills, you’ll develop dishes that inspire our visitors through our spirit of place.

You’ll receive full training and a bespoke induction on appointment - and further professional training and development opportunities are also available.

Due to our opening hours, you won’t be required to work nights or split shifts, and will be off on Christmas Eve and Day as the property is fully closed to the public.

Who we're looking for

• Passionate about food, creative and proactive

• A great team player, who thrives in a fast paced, catering environment

• Qualified in food preparation and cooking to City & Guilds or NVQ L2 or equivalent
