Group Director of Sales – Hand Picked Hotels

Established by Guy and Julia Hands in 1999, Hand Picked hotels has grown organically and through acquisition to become the 5th largest luxury hotel group in the UK – comprising 22 hotels across the UK and Channel Islands.  With strong shareholder support, the business has embarked on an ambitious investment program to refresh the estate and customer experience to define a new standard of country house stay in 2023.

To support the investment program, Hand Picked Hotels is seeking an ambitious Group Director of Sales with strong experience developing commercially successful sales strategies to reach new customers, capture new business and position a luxury businesses within a competitive landscape.  This role is an important hire and the successful candidate, in addition to leading the sales team, will play a key role working with the Commercial, Marketing and Transformation Directors to shape the business strategy both today and for the future.

Key Accountabilities

As Group Director of Sales you will report to the Commercial Director focusing on.  

  • Developing and implementing strategies to maximise Hand Picked Hotel’s managed revenue and profit
  • Leading the central and hotel-based sales teams to deliver the sales strategy and budget
  • Leading our Yorkshire based Group Reservations Office (sales team and customer contact centre)

Group Director of Sales is a full time role which will be based at our office in Sevenoaks, Kent at least two days a week, with further travel to our Hotels as required.
