Crche Assistant

Based: London Aquatics Centre: Hourly rate: 12.16 per hour. Between 20-40 hours available per week.

The London Aquatics Centre are looking for a casual Crche Assistant to provide a safe, stimulating, educational and fun environment for children attending Crche Play and Learn at the London Aquatics Centre. Our Children's Centres provide childcare and welfare for children of up to five years of age as well as providing support to their families, so it's imperative that the facilities and surroundings provide a clean, safe and welcoming environment.

High-quality care, education and a safe, yet enjoyable environment are of the utmost importance in our Children's Centres, so your commitment to provide fun structured sessions and activities in line with GLL's Crche Play and Learn brand will be key. Good understanding of the challenges faced when working with children of different ages, abilities and cultures will be needed as you'll provide a welcoming and stimulating environment in order to deliver high quality childcare.

You'll have childcare experience covering differing age groups in various settings with a minimum NVQ/CACHE Level 1 in Childcare (or equivalent) with a First Aid at Work qualification. It will be beneficial to have knowledge of Birth to Three Matters, Foundation Stages, Ofsted and Health & Safety legislation as well as the qualities that parents and guardians expect from childcare provision. It goes without saying that you'll be friendly and approachable as well as being imaginative, creative and a positive role model to the children that you supervise.

In return, we offer a range of benefits that you'd expect from the UK's largest leisure provider:

Pension schemes

Discounted membership at our leisure centres

Career pathways

Ongoing training and development to help you to be the best

If you're passionate and committed about what you do and believe in our social ethos of accessibility and affordability to all, then apply now at Better.org/careers/QEOP.

Closing date: 26th of June.
