Summary

National Trust place - Flexible across North Wales / Lleoliad yr Ymddiriedolaeth Genedlaethol - Hyblyg ledled gogledd Cymru

National Trust Cymru cares for some of the most iconic historic houses and castles in Wales. We are looking for someone to lead the project to oversee essential fire risk safety work at our amazing places.   This role will be suitable for a project manager experienced in working in compliance or a technical field or a fire risk expert who has experience of managing projects. The role will involve leading the delivery of the All Wales Fire Risk Project, working closely with senior colleagues at properties and in house experts as well as external contractors.

You will find that no two days will be the same.

What you'll be doing

You will be leading the delivery of the All-Wales fire safety project, to continually improve our fire safety approaches in some of the most historic building in Wales

The role is varied, challenging and rewarding. You'll provide efficient, effective and flexible leadership to the project Working within the appropriate Trust procedures you’ll be responsible for making things happen, liaising with internal/external communications, IT/processes, record keeping, project framework governance administration and financial management.

Who we're looking for

  • Relevant qualification or relevant experience in Fire Safety and Fire Risk Assessment (Fire protection association, NEBOSH…)
  • Knowledge of the relevant fire legislation and buildings regulations applicable in Wales is desirable
  • Experience of completing, reviewing fire risk assessment reports

 AND

  • Project Management qualification (PMQ or equivalent) with experience of working on complex projects.

Cross cutting skills:

  • Adaptable, and able to make decisions and drive projects forwards working to budgets and timescales.
  • Risk based and pragmatic mindset.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate.
  • Knowledge of budgets, finance and co-ordination of projects.
  • A positive attitude to Welsh language and culture
