Summary

We're looking for a Retail Manager to join our team here at Coughton Court.

Hours: Annualised hours contract, working 1170 hours per year. The property is open from mid-February to end October,with a usual working pattern of 9.30am - 5.30pm on working days. Working days will be determined by the days the shop is open, this is currently being decided on and more information can be provided at interview stage.

This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year

Salary: £13,850 per annum ( £23,088 full-time equivalent)

Duration: Permanent Vacancy

Interview: 13th June 2022



What it's like to work here

Coughton Court is one of England's finest Tudor houses and has been home to the Throckmorton family for 600 years. As a seasonal property you'll be leading a small but dedicated retail team, based in the NT shop at the entrance/exit of the property and working closely with the property team.

The house is set in award-winning gardens including the spectacular Walled Garden and orchards. Coughton has fine collections of furniture, family portraits and Catholic memorabilia which help us share the story of 'One House, One Family, One Faith - a family's struggle to remain true to its faith'

What you'll be doing

With your love of leading people and ambition to deliver beyond expectation, your role will be to set stretching targets and lead your team to deliver a unique retail experience.

Through leading and motivating staff and volunteers, you’ll manage the day to day operation and ensure the retail team are engaged to exceed customer service expectations, and are proud to talk about the amazing work the National Trust are carrying out with the money that is invested back into our property.

Who we're looking for

As the Retail Manager, you’ll have;

• Experience managing a retail operation with knowledge of retail best practice (including selling, merchandising, space management, stock control, risk)

• Experience coaching, developing and supervising teams – rotas, managing absence, giving feedback

• Experience in ensuring a retail outlet maximises it’s sales potential.
