Southwark Quarter is a sprawling cultural campus nestled in London’s bankside next to Borough Market, the Tate Modern and Shakespeare’s Globe theatre. Founded in 2016, Southwark Quarter is best known for its multi-award winning music venue, Omeara which sits central to all of the offerings, as well as Flat Iron Square, an outdoor beer garden which really established itself during the summer of 2018 as one of the greatest atmospheres for major sporting events and small urban festivals.

Founded by CEO Ben Lovett, serial entrepreneur and a multi-award winning musician, alongside his brother Greg Lovett who joined the team as CFO following many successful years with the Soho House Group.

Job purpose:

The Cocktail Bar staff are to ensure the swift operation of the bars and ensure customers receive the refreshments they require with consistent, attentive knowledgeable polite service, up-selling always. This is a key role to ensure that all our patrons have the best experience they can on the night.

Main Responsibilities

  • Preparing and serving drinks to customers
  • Providing a consistently high level of customer service
  • Maintaining high levels of cleanliness
  • Replenishing stock
  • Complying with and following licensing regulations, Company procedures and policies
  • Working as part of a team to deliver excellent customer experience
  • Attend and complete all training provided
  • Develop a thorough knowledge and understanding of our menu and back bar
  • Process transactions accurately
  • Boost revenue through upselling
  • Open and close down of bar area

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year cocktail and bar experience
  • A great understanding of classic cocktail specs and techniques
  • Good working knowledge of cocktails/spirits/wine/beer
  • Must be able to work Evenings, Weekends and Late Club Nights
  • Have a genuine passion for what you do
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Working knowledge with a POS System

Industry related certifications (i.e. WSET) - Desirable
