Job Type: Full Time, Part Time or Flexible

Department: Estate Housekeeping

Reports To: Estate Head Housekeeper / Estate Assistant Head Housekeeper or Housekeeping Supervisor

Job Purpose

Ensuring that allocated areas, guest rooms, corridors, cleaning cupboards and stores are kept to the highest standards of cleanliness and are well maintained as per the departmental standards. Providing all the necessary equipment and items, which are requested by the Estate Head Housekeeper/Estate Housekeeping Supervisor.

Job Tasks

  • Routine thorough cleaning of allocated area including but not limited to: Main Hall, Melbourne Lodge, (bedrooms, bathrooms, corridors) Golf Club, Admin Offices, Staff Accommodation, Auberge du Lac, Halfway Houses, Palmerston Lounge) including all fittings and surfaces to the required standard;
  • Carry out all reasonable Guest and special requests as instructed by the Supervisor;
  • Keeping the cleaning cupboards and stores tidy and correctly stacked;
  • To behave in a professional and polite manner towards all guests at all times;
  • To carry out spring cleaning duties as directed by the Supervisor;
  • To report any defects and maintenance issues to the Supervisor;
  • Report and hand in items of property found;
  • Ensure health & safety procedures are followed, including manual handling and COSHH;
  • To ensure the smooth running of the department at all times through effective teamwork;
  • To attend any department training and/or meetings when required;
  • Maintain effective communication within the department and ensure that the Supervisor is well informed of any problems/queries that have arisen;
  • To assist in the training and development of colleagues as and when required;
  • To assist in any way that may be necessary to ensure the efficiency and smooth running of the Estate Housekeeping department.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications

  • Good standard of education

Essential & Personal Specifications

  • Experience in 4-5 star hotel preferable;
  • Must be self motivated and energetic;
  • Understand the importance of working as part of a team;
  • Well presented personal appearance is required;
  • Ability to work to good standards in a pressurised environment;
  • Must have the desire to generate customer satisfaction;
  • Flexible;
  • Good communication and organisational skills;
  • Basic knowledge of COSHH preferable.
